How do you tell a Diplomat from a Gran Fury? |

Nameplate on the grille, and the trim around the taillights. In this case, this is a Diplomat. Diplomats have silver trim, Gran Furies have black trim. 1981 |

It's a 1987-88 model.I've seen this movie.(Have it on tape)In two other brief scenes, you can see it's interior. It has a 3rd brake light, which makes it 1986 or newer. Also, the type steering wheel this car has was used only 1987-88.(I owned an Ex-Cop 86 Fury for a few years)Also,if you look very close, this car's name(above it's grille)has eight letters in it?(It also has the lighter grayish colored grille, unlike a Dodge which is darker, and only has five letters) This all says to me it's a 1987-88 Plymouth Gran Fury. |

It does seem to have the longer PLYMOUTH name on the grill, but it might just be an illusion. Good call with the 3rd brake light, though. |
