:hello: Hasn't someone recently asked for towing trucks in Europe, based on US Pick Up's? Here we have one. I don't know, if http://www.widliczek.de/html/fuhrpark.html has it still in use. But it was/is authentic. I've seen it several times, when I lived in Dortmund between 1994 and 2005.
They have more trucks than shown on the link. They need a plenty of them, when there is someting in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westfalenstadion going on. Then usually hundreds of wrong parked cars were towed away. A solid business-base.

@ingo: :hello: Do they allow the 5 lights system on the roof illuminated at night in Germany?

In Holland a truck may use have 6 front lights (amber or white).

@rljuna2: no. Any light, shining forward, has to be white. So even the truckers, who have some coloured light-chains or such self-lumnious decoration-articles in their frontscreen or on the roof, can get a ticket for that.
Also this illuminated company-signs, we have here: /vehicle_472950-Volvo-F12-1987.html are not legal. Strange, that this truck on the link has a Geman plate (SL for Schleswig), but it's likely, that switch on the light only on tours abroad and let if off inside Germany.

For foreign trucks this regulation is not valid, they can keep it on. It's very popular in Denmark, also other Scandinavian countries and Britain.
