judging from shape of portholes a 1956 Buick .Portholes in 1954 were less tapered at their rear end. |

It's either a 1956 Super or a Roadmaster 4 door hardtop. It's hard to tell with the missing door and trim... |

Not that but the roof style with four portholes means a 1956 Buic Century Riviera 4 door hardtop |

Not a Century, look at the door handles and the shape of the windshield post: Link to "www.oldcarbrochures.com" Link to "www.oldcarbrochures.com" Link to "www.oldcarbrochures.com" The Special and Century don't have a recessed beltline like the Super/Roadmaster models (where the rear door handle is) and the windshield post is vertical on the Super/Roadmaster and canted on the smaller series. -- Last edit: 2012-04-07 06:51:00 |

I was reliably informed that it is a '56 century 4 door hardtop. BUT... apparently, they only made the one special model for that year and according to buick, this was the one. (I'm still not sure whether I believe it or not.) I know, it used to be mine, till I was stupid enough to sell it! wasn't in that condition then, by the way. that was about '85 ish. difficult to remember 30 years on! that's what it looked like when pinewood studios had finished with it! I was going to buy it back for the princely sum of £20 but a flat (apartment) I was buying with my future wife came up and I couldn't afford to do both, so the car lost out. |
