What are the differences and recognition points between - 94-96 WB, - 97 WD, and - 98-00 WF??? So far it seems 97+ introduced clear indicators and black tailgate trim instead of body colour. But we don't seem to have comments to split WD and WF apart from plate dates. Therefore if they can't be split, those WD/WF without plate dates should all default to 97+ WD. |

The black tailgate trim was actually introduced very late in the WB series, part way through 1996. The only visual difference between WD and WF are that the WF got new side mirrors. The only mechanical difference is that the WF had a 4-speed automatic option on the 1.5L engine, whereas the WD only had a 3-speed. The 3-speed remained on the 1.3L models, though. In addition, a new colour, "Jungle Green", was introduced in the WF, which I believe replaced the previous lighter "Ocean Jade" green/turquoise. Also, "Desert Haze" (beige) was dropped. The blue car in the main image is "Bright Sapphire" (new for 1997). -- Last edit: 2020-02-14 23:30:35 |

Thanks. So will use 97 WD as default, and correct any 97 WF. |
