It does appear to be an L reg car. Additionally it does not look at all like G, H, J or K the other readily found alternatives.

I would even guess it is '??W 730L' or similar but that is stretching it quite a lot. I find sometimes copying the image and changing the contrast works but often just changing it to 'negative' (black>white) is even better.

I can't actually read the letters even with my special glasses and what Sandie recently called my psychic abilities - it's more about the shapes and blank areas. L leaves a blank area on the right end of the plate which other letters don't so can stand out sometimes. Also has 71+ sports wheels and it does not look a K plate. It also smells a bit like a Capri Special run-out UK-only limited edition ahead of the facelift; 1st issue was based on 2000GT only, released Oct 71 in orange with vinyl roof but had rear window louvres; then a 2nd version in June 72 on 1600/2000/3000 GT without the louvres and more colour choice.

@Sunbar - welcome to my madness :king: . Apparently the switching to negative view is a very effective trick used by speed camera readers to confirm blurry/dirty plates.

Is that what I looked like in the K70 bumper dream? Because it doesn't look anything like me .......

No, as you aren't a cat-lover, as you wrote sometimes.
But you appear in my thoughts (no, not dreams) when I'm in the office ;) "dsl-Simca!" is one of my mnemonic rhymes (usally numbers and number-codes are related to car-specific things, sometimes to postal codes). I have to think "dsl-Simca!" when I progamme our photocopier to make coloured prints - the code for that is "1307".

Now it starts to be slightly weird...

When I wrote a specific letter with our old text processor programme, I always thought "Audi, Fiat, Fiat, Mercedes, BMW" - because the text modules had the codes 100, 130, 131, 300, 520.
