Maybe they are smeared with filler as the rest of the car. You cannot see the original beadings any more, nor the little round cap close the the back wheel arch (for reaching the bolts of the back axle). So it has the usual fate as the very most Karmann Ghias, ended up as an undead Presto-Bomber.
