2009-11 by those mirrors I think. |

One of the DVD special features tallies up the cost of the party and says this is a 2011 model. Don't know if that is enough proof to give an exact year however. |

That would make sense. I think it's supposed to be a new car. |

It can't be a 2011 model. The first generation CLS (W219) were only 2005-2010 models. The second generation (W218) started with the 2011 model year, so this has to be a W219 and the grille style narrows it down to a 2008-2010 model. |

Gorgeous CLS. Introduced in 2004 for the 2005 model, which would be produced up until 2010 before it was replaced with the W218, which was also then replaced by the current C257 that has been in production since 2018. Thomas's father's car in this film is a first generation W219, which was assembled in Sindelfingen, Germany. While the car does get some decent on-screen time throughout the film, I don't think there are any shots detailed enough to narrow down one of the many trim levels this car came available in. This particular model is also unique in that it happens to be the first car introduced by any automaker globally as a 4-door coupe (the Volkswagen CC would follow very soon after). Looks like 2011 was a carryover year: https://www.copart.com/lot/31481949/Photos |
