Almost certainly a Karrier, but as yet we haven't traced the registration |

Commer or Karrier BF based coach probably... I can find that Plaxton manufactured coaches on the BF chassis but no pictures as yet. |

My information is that the bodywork is by Reading |

Did any Karrier and Commer have the same front?... Up to me from profile view of the cabin it looks rather as a Commer = I think sort of Commer BFD Van or mini bus with specific body (Reading ? as suggest SteveA) |

As far as I know in the 1960s 'Karrier' shared the same body design with 'Commer' being made in the same manufacturing plant. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Reg.no seems to be NXW 12.! -- Last edit: 2007-05-01 03:57:49 |

edit: 'NXW 12' was issued in London. (There is no issuing county authority 'X' as the second letter in a registration). A very similar or identical bus appeared in "Clash by Night" (1962), registration number '883 CPP' (Luton, Bedfordshire issuing authority). -- Last edit: 2007-08-02 21:20:13 |

Commer and Karrier BFs were made on the same production line (called the 4 cylinder line, although the larger Walk Thrus made on this line had the Armstrong Siddely based Super Super Snipe Mk II 6 cyl motor) at Rootes works at Boscombe Road, Dunstable (across the road from Bedford Luton Works). Same model, different badge! |

Karrier 98A with Reading Lilliput body as the bus in "Clash by Night" (1962), registration number '883 CPP'. |

The bus used in “Clash by Night” was a 1957 model. It does look exactly like this one so should this one be listed as a 1957 model, too. |

It's HXW 12: ![]() Not that I know if that makes any difference. Either way, it's decidedly not a background vehicle, so I increased the rating. -- Last edit: 2024-10-13 13:55:56 |

... = London Sept 46 - March 48 "allocated in blocks"; noted the Morris Minor has HXW 28 which is 10 years older than the car so probable witchcraft afoot. |

As always seemed likely this is the same bus used in “Clash by Night” or one of three owned by the same operator. The leaf shaped logo with "BPM" in the centre is for Brookmans Park Motors Potters Bar Herts. and they had a fleet of three of these Karriers. One of these being 883CPP. https://www.northmymmshistory.uk/2018/03/north-mymms-coaches-over-years.html?m=1 |
