It's the Chevy, and it's a '62. Looks pretty heavy to be anything lower than a C-30 though, and may even be too heavy for that. |

If a light-duty, it could also have been a 1½-ton C-40, which shares the same light-duty cab for this generation of C/K-Series truck line. But...![]() ![]() (1962 C-10 to C-40 light-duty cab // C-50 to C-80 medium- and heavy-duty cab) With such a grille and its surround, "our" truck is more likely a 2-ton C-50 (12,000 lbs / 5.4 t GVW) or a 2-ton C-60 (19,500 lbs / 8.8 t GVW) one. As these trucks share all wheelbases with the heavy-duty 2½-ton C-80 (133" / 3.38 m, 145" / 3.68 m, 157" / 3.99 m, 175" / 4.44 m and 197" / 5 m), I propose to give up the idea of trying to find the exact model and chassis code ![]() ⇒ 1962 Chevrolet C-Series? or ⇒ 1962 Chevrolet C-Series Medium-duty? -- Last edit: 2014-11-23 04:03:37 |

Not a decisive hint for medium-duty trucks, as some light-duty C-30 and C-40 models had them too. By the way, Chevrolet wrote it medium-duty, with a hyphen, as proposed above. ⇒ 1962 Chevrolet C-Series Medium-duty? |
