I don't think this is a Pontiac. I think it is a 1970 Dodge Coronet based ambulance. |

Probably this unit or at least from the same fleet. Scan Rescue of Horten were the first Norwegian company to meet the new ambulance regulations in 1971, which kicked most of the other ambulance coachmakers out of the market at that time. If I'm not mistaken (I don't speak the required language and I mainly work with books, if anyone remembers what that was - a storage medium entirely made from paper!), they started collaborating with VBK around 1970, which subsequently led to VBK becoming the main ambulance manufacturer of Norway. The Coronet above certainly didn't meet the new 1971 regulations, but it perfectly matches the Scan Rescue habits, which is why I'm 90% sure they built this ambulance. |
