I have some video captures I took from this movie of a car I don't think was included. It was the British car which had a limo driver and was waiting for the Royal Mail delivery outside of the airport. From what I can compare of the pictures it's definitely not the Chrysler Newport driven by other British politicians in the movie. Can anybody identify? I included a clear shot of the license plate because I've noticed UK members are able to use it to search for vehicle data. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I apologize if it's already included and I just missed it. Perhaps you can ad my vid caps of the car to its entry if I just didn't find its listing. Thanks! |

It's: /vehicle_49097-Rover-2000-TC-P6-1973.html But it seems (in your third picture) to have the airdam of a 3500 V8 model ![]() |

Maybe 2 cars - not sure if plate fonts are the same. Second car looks 3500 - the grille badge has been blurred out or dirtied. Or maybe Scandinavian-spec 2000 had the underbumper grille for some reason - eg if air con fitted??? |

The CD plates are completely different also the font on the number plates differ in at least the 'CC' area. The listed car has a more open C shape the other almost a closed gap in the separate thumbnail. -- Last edit: 2015-12-03 23:06:25 |

Yes, that plate is definitely fake. It actually looks as if the "plate" was added afterwards by editing the original image (even appears to have been drawn?), it seems to be floating and it's otherwise inconsistent with the existing perspective lines. The edge of the real plate is seen under it on the right. -- Last edit: 2015-12-03 23:20:28 |

I can see exactly what you are talking about in regards to the license plate. The sequence of pictures I posted took place over under 10 seconds of the film. It's very interesting to appreciate how a few seconds of film can be blended together to contain two different cars and how the editor had the foresight to make the license plates match. This was the early 1970s so it wasn't as easy as editing it on a desktop computer. I don't think this film was ever remastered. Thanks for your help, it's great to have a resource of such experts! |
