Another complicated case. Probably don's exist such thing, as Ford Vanette. These vans has from Ford only the chassis (not always with engine) or chassis with cowl and windshield ( http://www.tailgatetruck.com/ ). They could have chassis also from Chevrolet (in this body shape). Engine could be from various producers. Most probably these vans were bodied by Universal Body from Delaware ( Link to "www.trucksplanet.com" ). Few interesting infos - http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/319609-old-step-van.html Here are advertisements - Link to "forum.love-fords.org" - from various years with names as Vanette, Parcel Delivery or P-Series. And on pictures are visible vans from various body makers (in brochure from 1940 is body from Transportation Engineers, and from 1963 is Grumman-Olson). In fact they're advertising only chassis with designations F or P-something, from time to time offered with windshield and cowl (visible in advertisement of P-350 from 1949 and 1954). That's why Boyertown has vans so similar to these called on IMCDb Ford Vanette (they made only few changes on Ford cowl, from which most distinctive is different grill). |
