according to Wiki, this busses are 3,5m wide + 14m long and were delivered to Los Angeles LAX (livery above) and Wien Schwechat, Vienna Airport, i think i have seen once in magazine http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gr%C3%A4f_%26_Stift 2012 shot in Ashcroft, British Columbia, Canada supposingly no longer on duty in Vienna. there is a successor model Buxbaum, ÖAF J04 used in Stuttgart due to scale model http://www.modellbus.info/mo_ap_19.jpg the mid front door concept itself not new than! developed by airfield bus pioner NEOPLAN in the early 60ies together with low floor, commen today but forbidden on open roads in 1960, they built first pure airfieldbus in 1960 have a blueprint of TR40 |

The ÖAF Vorfeldbus was built between 1978 and 2000, mainly for middle east- and USA-customers according to http://www.modellbus.info/monat-041.htm. The above shown one is a pre-1988 facelift version. ÖAF Modell "FLUGHAFEN-VORFELDBUS GS FH 240 M 14". Built with parts of a regular SR 240. |
