With the lack of side molding, I believe its a 1957 Desoto Adventurer link The 1957 and 58 DeSoto used the same tail light assemblies, the biggest difference I can find is the chrome moldings on the sides... Comments? -- Last edit: 2006-10-02 22:36:33 |

Sorry, not a 1957 DeSoto, a 1958, for sure. The exhaust pipes are different. Here is one of a 1957: http://www.angelfire.com/de/petrus/images/exphome2.jpg And here is one of a 1958: http://www.misterw.com/DeSoto/58DeSoto07.html See the differences in the exhaust pipes. As for the model, well, I can't tell which, but it cant' be an Adventurer. The car seems to be a sedan, and there was no sedan in the Adventurer series in 1958. -- Last edit: 2006-10-02 23:12:53 |

OK, there were four DeSoto lines for 1958, Fireflite, Firedome, Firesweep and Adventurer. This is not an Adventuerer, since, as archi87 stated correctly, there was no sedan available in that series. All 1958 DeSotos, including the Adventuerer, had the same side trim. hence, it is impossible to tell which 1958 DeSoto this is. |
