Agree this is a late one for the grille. Lots of references to this being sold in US as TR10 Sedan for 1957-60, with TR10 also being used for the Triumph Estate Wagon (plus there were also a few Triumph Pennant for 1958-59). The idea seems to have been a halo effect reference to the successful in US TR3. Sales were: TR10 Sedan - 9907 TR10 Estate Wagon - 7351 Pennant - 335. However from http://users.belgacom.net/triumph/Triumph%2010.htm and http://www.vtr.org/Triumph10/index.shtml - "The car was never officially called the TR10, although many have referred to it as such over the years." (try googling TR10 today and it throws up loads of interesting links). Suggest using [TR10] as model code to recognise the common usage. Also for the Pennant reference "The last of the Triumph 10s in the United States featured somewhat revised styling, in the form of front sheetmetal and trim taken from the Standard Pennant. So far as I can determine, the rear styling of the home market Pennant was not adapted for the last of the Triumph 10s." - same sources. -- Last edit: 2013-03-04 16:47:26 |
