By the time this show was produced this thing would have likely had over a million miles on it LOL. With their massive trunks and huge back seats they were likely popular as cabs.

@yvon: when you've been there? I visited Jordan in 1997 and at that time I only have seen a very few US-cars. The absolutely most common car there was the Mercedes W 115, then Opel Rekord D and E, then Mercedes W 123. Much less Peugeots than in the other countries of the Levante and the Maghreb (no wonder, it wasn't a French colony).

I've heard about that big junkyard close to Amman, too (because a friend of mine has seen three K 70 over there).

You are right, they are not driving anymore. Like I told in the message, between 1999 and 2004, I saw them on fabulous geant junk-yard, all distoyed and cutted in two. The were used in the '80ies. Not one could be restored. Because it was near military zones .... I could not take pictures.

About Amman, the most US cars were in Abdoun area, were I was living. In the summer month many middle-class Koweiti and Saudi are coming to spent 3 months vaction beacause it's cooler than in their county.

Down-town Amman, there you don't see US cars. Because all cars in Jordan used loaded fuel, so ... for the newer US cars it was a problem. Only one fuel station in Amman sold un-loaded fuel (limited). With my Cadillac I drove only in town or to Israel. When we were going out the town to Aqaba or to Syria, we were using my wife's Toyota Corolla.

Right, I remember to have seen the K70s
In fact I learned that in the early sixties LHD Holden were sold in Jordan and I did hope to find one to restore. I found nothing worth to work on it.
