I discovered this series yesterday on the Belgian (flemish) TV. In the telefilm "Well Schooled In Murder", Lynley's car appears a lot. It's a very nice royal blue Jensen Interceptor, registered "OCL 888 M". I don't have a snapshot, unfortunately. I could not assess the year the car was built, but with the registration number, this should be feasible for someone accessing the registrations UK database. -- Last edit: 2006-10-08 10:36:22 |

I thought I saw Lynley driving a Bristol before.? |

Indeed. Lynley's usual car seems to be the Bristol recorded on this site (/vehicle_32531-Bristol-410-1968.html). Don't know why he is using the blue Jensen in this "episode". As it's one of the early ones ('Well Schooled in Murder' is the first "episode" following the pilot movie), I guess the Jensen was his first usual car till he got/drove the Bristol later on. By the way, it was the first time ever I watched one telefilm about Lynley's investigations which were to me totally unknown so far. Update : - OCL 888M - 1973 Jensen Interceptor MkIII, chassis 13678886, engine 35C11598 (http://www.motorbase.com/auctionlot/by-id/777109116/) - From Wikipedia (about Jensen Interceptors): Inspector Lynley (Nathaniel Parker) drives one in the earlier seasons of "The Inspector Lynley Mysteries". He drives a Bristol in the later seasons. -- Last edit: 2006-10-08 20:23:57 |

Is this still 'alive' then? According to the DVLA (GOV.UK), they've heard nothing of it since 2002. Of course it could be 'shrink wrapped' somewhere, but it's just a Jensen after all, not a 250 GTO. Don't get me wrong, I love the Interceptor. It just doesn't seem to me to be the type of car that ends up in one of those airtight glass boxes. Wonder where it is? -- Last edit: 2015-08-31 04:04:53 |
