I didn't know the L.A.P.D. used Chrysler products? All I know they used Impalas and Caprices. |

This may be stating the obvious, but the fact that the Diplomat is painted as an LAPD car doesn't necessarily mean that it was ever a real one. |

I didn't know that. Thanks Snookie. After that they stuck with the Chevys right? |

Oh yeah. The LAPD also purchased Chevy Impalas along with the Diplomats in 1982. After seeing the poor performance of the Chrysler products, they bought from Chevy in 1985, 1986, 1987, 1989, 1991-1996. Along with the Chevys, were Ford Crown Vics, from 1985-1988, and 1992-present. Watch these following films: Colors (1988) (Several black and white LAPD Diplomats are seen, including one that gets its rear window blown out, and wrecked.) Speed (1994) (There was a brown Diplomat near the ending during the Pershing Square climax) Terminator 2 (1991) A rare shot of a Chrysler LeBaron in the Cyberdyne Lab takedown. The Net (1995) Sandra Bullock is chased by a CHP Diplomat Dragnet (1987) A CHP Diplomat is used in a comic conspiracy involving stolen squad cars. -- Last edit: 2006-11-16 23:24:05 |

Colors is a cool movie, Snookie. What kind of car does Sean Penn and Robert Duvall drive? All I know they drive a 1977-78 Plymouth Fury. The various squad cars are 1982 Chevy Impala F41's, 1982 Dodge Diplomat, and 1979-81 Dodge St.Regis |

They drive a burnt orange 1985 Chevy Impala F41 near the beginning of the movie. They get into a car chase with Crip gang members. The LAPD follows in hot pursuit with every car in the LAPD fleet: 1979-1980 Dodge St. Regis 1982-1985 Chevy Impala F41's 1982 Dodge Diplomats 1985 Ford LTD Crown Vic They total the burnt orange Impala, and get stuck with a 'lemon'...a term meaning 'oldest car in the fleet'....and it turns out to be a yellow beat up 1978 Plymouth Fury, which, amazingly, doesn't get a scratch throughout the rest of the film. At the end, Sean Penn, and his new partner ride in a silver 1982 Diplomat. To me, Colors is a great LAPD movie, but 'To Live and Die in L.A.' stands as my # 1 fave. -- Last edit: 2006-11-22 20:26:16 |

When the page of Colors is completed we're going to give the '85 Impala and the '78 Fury four stars. |

Yee Haw!! You're one alright kinda guy Slim!! |
◊ 2006-11-17 20:26 |
No he is not alright. It is RockerBJ that was banned lots of times from here using lots of nicknames. |
◊ 2006-11-17 20:41 |
Oh come on, let bygones be bygones. Give him another chance. This is the first person I've blogged with that knows just as much as I do about police cars. Slim, if you are Rocker BJ, just try to cool down a bit, and follow Antp's rules. Remember, he's the head honcho here. |
◊ 2006-11-17 21:19 |
I'll do that Snookie. |
◊ 2006-11-17 21:22 |
A 37th chance? I had to block so many of his accounts. He was rude with lots of others members (insults etc.), he is annoying because when he his wrong he insists for changes in the car names, when he sees that he his wrong he deletes/edits his previous comments ot make like if he was right, he asks multiple times for changes at few minutes/hours of interval at times where there is nobody on the site for doing these changes, etc. |
◊ 2006-11-17 22:33 |
Well, a wise guy once said "37th times a charm". Come on. Let's just give him another try. If it happens again, delete his account, and never listen to me again. (Not literally, but I'll just stick to what I know, which is cars.) But please, let him try again. He's the only other person I know who loves police cars. A person who shares common interest is hard to find these days. At least think about it, please? Pretty please with sugar on top? ( Winston Wolf) -- Last edit: 2006-11-17 22:38:10 |

To Slim: You seem like a pretty cool character, but remember that Antp is the BOSS. No more insults, no repeated asking for changes, no unauthorized changes, and ESPECIALLY, no bad language, especially against the other members of this site, or the guy who runs things. Just do what you do best on this site, which is showing your expertise for cars. Okay Slim? -- Last edit: 2006-11-17 22:39:31 |

Snookie two days ago when you put every car in the LAPD fleet about Colors please edit 1982-1985 Chevy Impalas and put it as 1982-1985 Chevy Impala F41's |
◊ 2006-11-22 07:11 |
Not 1982-1985 Chevy Impala [F41]. I'd said put it as 1982-1985 Chevy Impala F41's okay, because that is much better. |
◊ 2006-11-22 19:32 |
F41's without [ ] please. |
◊ 2006-11-22 20:15 |
We do not care of your F41s with or without []... this page is for comments about the 1982 Dodge Diplomat from Executive Target, stop annoying Snookie with that. |
