This movie is basically one long car chase! Tons of crashes, explosions, big jumps, swerving, fishtailing, pileups, and dramatic slo-mo moments. What's a merhi? |

Really fun movie from PM Entertainment. Lots of impressive vehicular action around downtown LA. |

Hey, random thought. PM Entertainment was known for epic car chase scenes, and yet... I think Executive Target was the only true "car chase flick" they ever made. Think about it. Normally, in a car chase flick, especially of that era (as opposed to the 1970s, when you needed no excuse for anything), car chases need to be essential to the plot. As far as I'm aware, Executive Target is the only PM film like that. The plot concerns a stunt driver who is forced by a criminal organization to be their getaway driver. Other PM films, like Last Man Standing, The Sweeper or Recoil, all have impressive chase scenes (arguably more impressive than those in Executive Target), but they don't have plots that revolve around their usage. Last Man Standing is about a cop fighting against corrupt cops who killed his partner, The Sweeper is about a loose-cannon cop joining a group of vigilantes, Recoil is about a cop going after a mafia boss who had his family killed... The car chases, while welcome additions, weren't essential. That's why I don't call those "car chase flicks" per se. So, yeah, that's my take. ...also, Executive Target, Last Man Standing, The Sweeper, Recoil and twenty-six other PM films, have been licensed for HD upgrades and Blu-ray releases starting next year, so, I'm psyched. -- Last edit: 2023-11-21 23:09:02 |
