Supposed to be Gibralter (limestone), but gets shot at in a sandstone quarry. RHD (is Gib RHD or LHD?) - dated as 73+ for chrome inside door handles - only UK saloon after Sept 68 was GL.

Wikipedia: Unlike in other British territories, traffic drives on the right, as the territory shares a land border with Spain. Therefore presumably LHD. In any case the plate is unconvincing, as Gib uses normal British fonts, not Letraset.

@dsl: You mentioned they filmed in Malta, but they go there during the first series? Given a choice between Malta and a quarry in Yorkshire for a scene set in Gibraltar, the choice ought to be obvious. :)

Maybe. But Yorkshire has red sandstone - eg the Brimham rocks formations of millstone grit http://www.brimhamrocks.co.uk/geology.htm . The Malta reference came from a DVD extras conversation, but did not specify which series of the three was/were involved. But only S3 E2 and E7 have Malta footage plus a brief insertion into S3 E3 as "Rhodes" - nothing in S1 or S2.
