"Washington DC" but Birmingham University. I think the foreground pillars in the rear view are polystyrene.

(that's a Marina out of the side window)

There's another land yacht lurking in the background of a couple of pictures from this sequence, but never shown any better.

I'm picking up some bad vibes here.

^ It's an interesting but slightly clumsy episode called "It couldn't happen here" which contrasts US and UK security organisations attitudes if they conclude that their own politicians are a danger to their country's future. So there's a lot of discussion about the assassinated US president who was named after an airport and the former FBI director named after a dam. And then this "US" sequence occurs, alongside a parallel storyline about a UK member of cabinet suspected of being a KGB agent ....

Yes, it is my least favorite episode with the main story just rather incongruous with the whole series. Can't see a short-staffed SIS loaning out one of three agents to do US Security work. I am not sure if the scene really is Washington DC. The assasinated Senator is from West Virginia, and that is where I thought the scene of the funeral (including this) took place there. The number plate looks more like a circa 1979 / 1980 WV license plate (although the red colored image of WV is yellow on the real plate). Also, I don't get a "DC Vibe" at all from this short scene; it's more rural America with the big Coke billboard and the railroad crossing they are coming up on. The Cadillac I believe is a color "Antiqua Blue" if I am not mistaken. Interesting that this was filmed at Birmingham (UK!) University. I knew that the film company could go to the US for a couple of short scenes. The Coke Billboard and Railroad crossing sign are likely minatures placed near the camera and obscure something rather British. I did not notice the Marina in the nackground, but then, the Marina was sold in the USA as the Austin Marina! So not an anachronism!
