If you look at the registration date, you can see that it can't can't possibly be a B Series - "Steerf" has been caught out by the re-cab programme undertaken by Bowie's of Altrincham, in which not only A Series, but also even an LV tractor or two were rebuilt with B Series cabs. A feature of the cab positioning on the LV chassis was that the 6LXB engine came to the back of the sleeper, and people mistook these motors for B Series with an 8LXB. Bowie's haulage operation was sold to A One Transport of Leeds, probably in the 1980s, and A One themselves are long gone |
