I do not think that this is a Model A Ford :1: the wheelbase looks longer that that of Model A's 1031/2 inches. 2:Model A's had a shorter row of hood louvres that reached higher to the hood and were more clearly delineated. 3 :the door handles of the Model A were situated in and not under the belt line. 4:Model A's had wire wheels rather than artillary type wooden spoke wheels. 4:the bumper blades of the Model A were interconnected by three small circular motives .this one has two oblong ones. This one seems to have a pointed hood mascot.I would go for a 1931 Essex 4 window town sedan ( which had a wheelbase of 113 inches) |

Good day everyone, The car is actually an Essex 1931 but not a town sedan but rather a standard sedan. A town sedan has 3 side windows. 2 doors and a quater window. You can see all of the Essex models on my website; www.essexcanada.wordpress.com the 1931 has a few distinctive marks. The most important is the front grille which is like a screen. other years have grilles. The other one is that the cowl lights are bolted underneath the belt line. In 1930 , it is bolted on the belt line. In 1929 it is real close to the hood and the brackets are pointing rear. In 1928 the cowl light brackets are pointing out. The 1928 is the only year with a msacot, called the flying Accarius from the greek legend. hope this helps! |
