This is a 1970, not a 1971. |

Grill, hood and halo vinyl roof identify this one as 1970 Cutlass Supreme 2-door hardtop. |

I actually think this is a Cutlass SX. A relatively rare option for 70 and 71 that featured a 455 as standard equipment. I think this car has the SX emblem on the front fender under the Cutlass emblem if anybody could please post some better close ups of the front fender? Yes this is a 70 although 71 Supremes also had the halo top molding. Taillights, front and rear bumpers and front end treatment clearly separate 70 from 71. 72 went right down the to drip rail with the vinyl which was the last year for this bodystyle. The 73 GM Colonades were delayed until 73 due to a GM strike. |

It's certainly possible that's an SX badge: Link to "musclecar.22web.org" |

I never saw them wreck this car. It was used in a few slow or stopped sequences. There is a better side shot of the car in an episode where a bunch of watermelons spilled onto the freeway. I'm pretty sure I noticed that SX badge. I used to tape these shows and watch them when I got home from work in the late 90s. I actually went through quite a few episodes if not all of them. I wrote down on several notebook pages all the cars ever wrecked that I watched. This car was not on the list. I wish they would come out with Season 3 on DVD. I want that Destruction Derby episode from Season 3 on DVD. -- Last edit: 2013-07-30 16:55:29 |
