At least you can rely on the good old DVLA to get their facts wrong. Lagonda made two models in 1939, the LG6, with a 4467cc Meadows six cylinder engine, and the V-12 with the 4480cc V-12 Lagonda engine designed by W O Bentley. Both cars used the same chassis design so this one could be either. I have double checked my engine capacity data from two different sources, neither of them being the DVLA. -- Last edit: 2013-12-18 19:46:14 |

Looking at pictures of both 'LG6' and 'V12' models on the internet I can find no apparent increased grille width difference mentioned before for the V12. However the V12 cars I have found do appear to have a chrome strip below the headlights in the flatted area that joins the front wings to the grille. This, so far I have not found on any LG6 cars so may be a means of identifying the two different models (apart from any bonnet length difference). Not conclusive but I think a possible difference between the two models.![]() -- Last edit: 2013-12-19 14:04:27 |

There may be a shortcut through this, if we are willing to play the numbers game. Only 85 LG6 cars of any type were built, against 189 V-12 cars. On probabilities therefore, its a V-12. |

Confirmed, FKT753 is a Lagonda LG6 as found on a vehicle database. |
