It's the 50th anniversary edition which will come out in April, just in time for celebrating the 50th anniversary of the very first launch of the Mustang, back on April 17, 1964!!! Considering it wasn't used in an action scene, I'd say it's real. Ford is probably using it for product placement, like it did with the James Bond movies. |

It was a pre-production model. It was shipped across the country under very tight security to shoot the scene, well before the car was revealed to the public. The actors and a small number of crew were the only people allowed to see it. Unfortunately, as Boss429 said, this particular car no longer exists, but thankfully, it was shown in great detail on Jay Leno's Garage. The only difference I can spot is the red rear diffuser (it was black on the production car). |
