That’s a nasty way to treat a car if I do say so myself… |

Well in movie it was an accident. They tried to do something different than... this. -- Last edit: 2006-11-15 22:42:38 |

This was the first small German car with plastic body and was a fore-runner to Trabant. By the way shouldn't it be Zwickau P70 ? |

Maybe. But here as AWZ (Automobilwerk Zwickau). http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/P70 http://www.trabant.cz/prospekt.php?klic=78 http://www.mega-ton.info/p70/index.htm |

At least in Finland Zwickau name was more familiar. I don't know how it was in other countries. Also it's funny to mention that I have some period ads in which they refer the make to be "P70". |

Yes, that's true, I've heard many times "P70 Zwickau". Now I don't know which word is the make. |

The full designation is AWZ Zwickau Typ " P70".The " AWZ" as indicated stood for " Automobilwerk Zwickau"," P" stood for "Plastic" referring to the synthetic body material and the " 70" referred to 700 cc which was about its piston displacement ( exactly 690 cc).The composite body material made of coton sheets and phenolic resins was a nightmare to recycle liberating important quantities of sulphur on burning,as on the Trabants. |

I was there last weekend ("Alternatywy 4", not Zwickau) |

-- Last edit: 2007-10-16 01:10:53 |

Ciekawe połączenie, gorzej jak by mu się pomyliły narzędzia. This P70 was probably a complete wreck. -- Last edit: 2008-12-03 16:02:22 |

Jeśli mam być nieprzyzwoity, co, mam nadzieję, ujdzie mi po polsku na sucho, to ciekaw jestem czy do obu działalności używają tych samych foteli... In case of P70 "rotten" might reflect the actual state quite well More seriously, Duroplast is indestructible, but the chassis might have rusted beyond repair... Even so, why a P70? |

The P70 export to Poland started in 1957. |
