Decided on Austin. Seems both Austin and Morris were sold in F, but Morris saloon ADO16 production stopped when Marina launched in 71 while Austin GT stayed until March 74, nearly a year after May 73 Allegro launch. So Austin more likely. |

I have the impression it lacks the GT script on the C-pillar, so I do not think a GT but possibly an after market vinyl roof, I think. -- Last edit: 2014-02-01 16:25:53 |

Agreed about C-pillar script, also no side trim. But wheels look probably GT and later 71+ GT were the only ADO16 to have vinyl roof. I don't think this silver was a factory colour, so my best guess is a repaint after which the side elements were not refitted. |

Cute explanation. |

Slight correction. All GT had vinyl roof so that's not a dating feature. But colour can - first year for both Austin and Morris was only white, red and orange with additional colours emerging from Oct 70 and later. This silver is unusual but may be original, possibly as a Mk3 choice. But safest to stick with 71 Austin. |
