Holden HZ or HQ? |

Nah, the HQ-HZ panel vans didn't look anything like this. |

Somewhat, yes. I admit the window doesn`t look very HQ/HZ-ish. |

It is an early 1970s Chrysler Valiant. Whether it is a ute with a custom top or just a modified panel van I don't know. |

It's a VH Valiant van, custom-built in 1971 for Crawford Productions for use in "Division 4". Originally white with tan interior, 245 Hemi, column-shift manual. Original Victorian rego number was LDH-018. Front clip was upgraded to VJ in about 1974. It was also used in "Homicide", "Ryan", "Matlock Police", "Bluey", and the first year of so of "Cop Shop" before being retired around 1979. It was later repainted a dark metallic silver, and popped up as an armoured security van in a later episode of "Cop Shop" (wearing later Victorian plates), appearing the background in at least one episode of "Special Squad" in 1984. For the "Flying Doctors" ep, it's been painted matt black, and a scoop added to the bonnet. But, it's definitely the same vehicle - several shots show the single rear door, which was unique to this vehicle. -- Last edit: 2014-11-12 13:53:04 |
