The M1 was open, and by 1963 the Midland Red had been running the CM5T turbocharged coaches for four years to and from London, yet here we see a C1 with a top speed of about 50 mph still in use. There was a great deal of stuff in the press at the time about how fast the CM5Ts were, they would certainly do 75/80 mph, and I kept out of their way in my Ford Popular, for sure! When the National bus company took over Royal Blue, they painted the coaches white. How stupid are the corporate identity people at times. -- Last edit: 2014-03-18 11:45:24 |
