Truck 10 ton 6x6 AEC Militant Coles Bridging Crane,FV11003 c 1955....this vehicle which is adapted for use in bridge construction,carries a crane with a 30 foot jib which can be slewed through 360 degrees. fully mobile,it is capable of lifting 7 tons at 9 foot 6 ins radius and 1 and a quarter tons at 30 foot radius.power for the crane is supplied by a diesel engine coupled to a variable speed electric generator which is mounted in the crane superstructure. the vehicle can be steered and driven forwards and backwards at slow speeds by remote control from the crane cab in the revolving body. ...chassis made by AEC Ltd, Southall, Middlesex,with chassis members by Steels Engineering products ltd,Sunderland, crane built by Steels Engineering Products Ltd, Sunderland. -- Last edit: 2014-06-04 17:00:29 |
