They look a mixture of early and mid production M4A3s with 75 mm guns, so should be one of these.... /vehicles_make-Chrysler_model-M4+A3+%27Sherman%27.html /vehicles_make-Fisher_model-M4+A3+%27Sherman%27.html |

It can be tricky, I use Hunnicutt and Son of Sherman vol 1 Link to "www.amazon.co.uk" http://www.bookworldws.co.uk/sherman-volume-p-5973.html In the case of this, these look to be American (number of them and no fireflies) That rules out A2 and A4 which weren't used by the US in Europe The welded hull rules out the A1 which had a cast hull only Very late M4s had the flat welded glacis (without the lumps for the driver's hatches) but they all appear to have had the 105 howitzer fitted Leaving the A3 which had the flat glacis and 75 mm gun and was used by the US in Europe. It is still it can be tricky with grainy pictures where you can't see much. |
