Velocette GTP 250cc two-stroke http://motorbike-search-engine.co.uk/classic_bikes/velocette_gtp.jpg Link to "cybermotorcycle.com" Link to "cybermotorcycle.com" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0piPxTBv-o In the video, the poor man kicks over the motor exactly TWENTY times before it fires up!!! Ah, yes, the British were (are?) a hardy lot. The exposed flywheel is an interesting feature; just don't wear long scarves in the winter! I'm certainly not a Velocette expert, but I believe this bike has the fuel tank AND mufflers from a K series four-stroke model. Could it be just a movie prop, not a runner or, perhaps, is it likely any exhaust system would work with such a low-tech motor? -- Last edit: 2014-07-16 09:12:28 |

More's the pity, dsl. One hopes the GTP has been allocated an 'age-related' plate - nonetheless, the bike's lost an important piece of its history. |

KP 1606 was a 1928 Kent issue - were Velocette GTP dates 1930-46?? - and has now moved on to a 2015 Jeep Renegade. No clues found for what plate the bike may have now (or as a side-thought to confirm it's still in UK). |
