1958-1964 bodyshell with 1965+ doors. :O |

Something went wrong because the left rear wing is crumpled in one scene. |

You can shave off 1964 due to canvas roof style. |

I'd say that is a 65-66 model, the indicators, number plate light, doors and everything are spot on for those years. You could still get a Golde ragtop roof as a factory option but they were rare. |

There's one element indicating 1958-1964 bodyshell with no doubt. The wipers. All (RHD & LHD) pre-1965 Typ 1s had wipers parked on right, later they're parked on left. Here you can find more details about this car. -- Last edit: 2014-10-27 13:45:34 |

With these modifications I don't trust what I see - the doors, the fuel gauge, the number plate light - these and more were added later. It's a question of what it does't have - and the missing window washer (Well it's there but not the original) tells me it is no newer than 1960. So, 1958-60. What name would be suitable? In Germany it would be a Limousine, or rather Limousine (Export-Modell) mit Sonnendach, so a local translation would be my guess. Even if several countries adapted the Limousine name, then again others just called it a Volkswagen - things were much less complicated back then.... |

We can use 'Limuzyna' name. However we can't exclude private import used car from every (Western or North Europe) country where Polish citizens worked, quite often since early 70s. |

Still 1958-60 regardless of local name. ![]() |
