http://secartransport.blogspot.co.uk/2010/05/should-be-in-museum.html Registered in the County of Hertford in the year 1930, looks very similar. |

^ details on UR 8313 in case exact model can be matched - http://www.catalogue-host.co.uk/richardedmonds/2011-03-26/lot_533 . "1930 ... Morris 8 cwt Light Van..... registered in December 1930 [so] 1931 model - distinguished from its predecessors by the curvature to its roof over the driver's cab, the flat nosed radiator and the modified version of the 13.9hp engine." |

The predecessor referred to would be the "Snub nosed" version. The subject van could be fitted with Australian bodywork so I would not put too much reliance on the roof shape, but the flat radiator was introduced in late 1926 for the Cowley and Oxford cars, the vans may have been somewhere between 1929 and 1932. There are 4 Morris Light Vans on the database, this looks like /vehicle_296371-Morris-Light-Van-1931.html but the body is different, the other three are snub nosed or bull nosed versions. http://morrisregister.co.uk/2734light/ http://www.ntasticshop.co.uk/Morris-8cwt-Flatnose-Light-Van/dp/B00G1PCKLK It could, of course, be a flat nose Cowley with the body converted! -- Last edit: 2014-11-11 16:12:09 |

1932-1935 Morris Light Van 'Flat-Nosed' 8-10 cwt (Cowley based). http://archive.commercialmotor.com/article/4th-august-1931/66/a-capable-van Its length looks completely unsuitable having seen the episode. Its a short 8cwt van with a 4ft 9in length load-space and both the front seats are occupied; so carrying a body on an over six-foot long stretcher would be a problem. -- Last edit: 2016-05-05 20:25:59 |
