It's a Victor FD from 1967 or 68, but the nuance of the exact model will require more memory than I can muster. -- Last edit: 2014-11-21 19:15:44 |

Bonnet says Capri .... but I have my doubts. Genuine August 67 onwards UK plate (and looks authentic), but FD estate did not appear until May 68, has Deluxe hub caps instead of Super/SL domed covers. Livery and extra lights behind grille suggest it might be a genuine marathon tour of some sort passing through??? Any other pictures as 4*?? |

What about the plate here? |

The registration number looks too early to me (late 1967?) but I have no confirmed dates. Colour is tasman orange available from 1970 (revised slightly as tasman orange 2 in 1971) on VX/40 and Ventora II but not factory finish on estate models which were all badged Victor. To what extent other changes have been made its not possible to say. More pictures either internal or external would be good. Models were 1968 Victor 1600 Estate, Victor 2000 Estate or Victor 3300 Estate and from 1970 Victor 1600 Super, Victor 2000 SL and Victor 3300 SL. The Deluxe trim designation was not used in price lists or brochures (although optional engines and transmissions were available). Hub caps and wheels (easily changed) are 1968 Victor 1600 Estate or Victor 1600 Super Estate. Only visible difference being external multi-slot trim ring on Super rather than visible silver paint on wheels with fewer slots visible. The 2000 engine was an available option on the base 1600 model (and standard on the base automatic option). |

Seems not to have sill trim which I think means 1968-69 Victor 1600 Estate only - compare this 1970+ Victor 1600 Super Estate - /vehicle_645676-Vauxhall-Victor-Estate-FD-1970.html . Nice to have the 70+ wheel trim ring thing confirmed - it was one of those things I thought happened, but did not have actual details. |

![]() Top Victor 1600 Estate, bottom Victor 1600 Super Estate. Good information to find the cill trim, not easily seen on the white car but visible. I had the idea the wheels were silver paint but uncertain. It all points to an early car (although anything could have been changed or removed when resprayed. |

No problem with the number plate. I remember my family car bought second hand in 1968 with number plate SVT-997-F.![]() That's me in the picture when I was about 11 or 12. |
