German Opel was too pricey for entry level, GM owned a chunk of Isuzu (Chevy Luv was 1st Isuzu offered to American consumers). The Buick Opel Isuzu was imported from 76-79 thru Buick dealers. Only exterior styling change was the grille. The Opel Isuzu was raced successfully in SCCA competition for a number of years due to the cross flow 1800 cc hemi engine. |
