No "Six" script on the grille, so most likely a Light Twelve-Four. If so, bodywork may be an Ascot saloon, the registration dates it to June 1937.

Same tags but the "Six" reappears. Why the different grilles?

Not a Twelve-Four then, and not an Ascot. I cannot find a 2366cc six cylinder Austin, the Sixteen is 2249cc and the Eighteen is 2511cc. However the Easicleen wheels suggest it might be the same car as /vehicle.php?id=801713

Only a personal view but possibly the main picture here is not 'DYV306' and two cars were used for filming, one with the actual registration number and a similar stand-in car with a substituted 'DYV306' number plate.

Firstly the 'Six' appears to be missing and although I'm not certain the headlamps look smaller and the number plate slightly different? edit: The actual DYV306 number plate has a bright border also seen in the rear shot and the Flickr photo, but not I think in the main view above. The shape of the top edge of the windscreen is also straight here (with small radii on the top corners) but the actual car has has a curved top with 4 equally sized corners.

The other car /vehicle.php?id=801713 as 'johnfromstaffs' suggests is almost certainly intended to be the same car and for me the actual 'DYV306'.

edit (2): DTV306 > DYV306 correction.

I must admit I read the main plate as DTV/OTV (or maybe even CTV) rather than DYV (as thumbs - not DVY as ^^^) but couldn't find a match.

My bad, above, corrected to DYV 306. At first I thought it was OTV or OYV as well.

Please change to "Austin Unknown" since there is doubt about my previous observation.

Easily confused from the number-plate above, even zooming in on the 'Y' its very poorly made and the '6' is the wrong style/font. I think this confirms its a studio mock-up.

The thumbnails also probably belong to the other car? /vehicle.php?id=801713

Reverted here to 'Unknown' for the time being.

Also 'DYV306' here listed previously as a 1937 Austin 16 /vehicle_160136-Austin-16-1937.html
