It's not always right (DVLA data is filled with errors and film makers like to put fake plates from other vehicles on cars) but it's better than leaving it to one of the admins to check out. It's also worth searching comments: /search.php for plates using the boxes at the bottom here. That means you can find if a car has already been listed in this series (or another series where you can see how it should be listed. cf: FBW 945.
