Daimler Majestic Major, 1960 to 1968. Chummy is standing in front of the boot, so I've called it the Major on quantity built, 1180 as opposed to 940 of the Majestic. |

I don't understand this sentence. If it's about Majestic Major vs Majestic, I read here that 1490 Majestic were built between 1958 and 1962. -- Last edit: 2015-04-12 08:54:28 |

My figure is from A-Z of Cars 1945 to 1970 by Sedgwick and Gillies, and it would seem that the longer production period of the Major would support the higher quantity produced over the six cylinder car, but I cannot say for certain which is right. The film was made in 1987, a Majestic Major would also have had less time to rust away. |

I've found the same figures as jfs quoted by Graham Robson as well. Plus a possible reference that only the Major had the flying D on the grille top - as here - but this may not be reliable. Definite that only Major had front horn grilles, but plant is in the way above. |

Definitely a Majestic Major DQ 450 Saloon. The 3.8L Majestic did not have the hood ornament. Front window frame is not the limo (DR 450) shape. |
