Most likely a SAVA (Sociedad Anónima de Vehículos Automoviles) or SAVA-Austin , then. A SAVA-Austin A-503 (es)? ![]() (Logo of the SAVA // Tintin's "Cigars of the Pharaoh" cover detail. Any resemblance to existing... ![]() -- Last edit: 2015-04-19 04:00:29 |

Said here (es) to have been made from 1964 to 1967, which correspond to the "late 1962 + 1½ year" date given in the forum I previously linked. A 1965 model year, then? |

1961 to 1963 based on Austin 503 [WE] actual Sava-Austin with full-length door also as badged here. 1964 to 1981 based on Austin 503 or 603 [WF] later Sava-Austin with twin headlamps and cut-away door The grille in the movie is not clearly seen but its either an Austin imported from the UK ( which I suspect but cannot prove) or 1961-1963 Sava-Austin 503. |

It appears Sava built BMC truck from 1961 onwards.... "SPAIN TO MAKE B.M.C. VEHICLES An agreement has been signed between the British Motor Corporation, Ltd. and Sociedad Amonima Vehiculos Automoviles (SAVA), Valladolid, Spain, tc co-operate in vehicle manufacture over the next 10 years. SAVA, already manufacturers of commercial vehicles in the 2 and 3-ton ranges, will be manufacturing B.M.C. vehicles at an early date. It is anticipated that BMC-SAVA vehicles, as they will be called, will be available for delivery in Spain in 1961." Read more at Link to "archive.commercialmotor.com" |
