Vauxhall Astra - the alloy wheels suggest high end model above GL (GLS?)

before MY 1984 I believe by the size of the door mirrors

IIA 9829 = YELLOW 1976 OTHERS ZETA STC CHILLER ZETA MOPED ..... . Not sure if alloys or Halfords wheel trims. No tints, but enough shiny stuff for GL at least.

The alloys are o.e. Opel/Vauxhall I know them well. GL had steel four slot wheels as standard these are options or GLS if that existed.

GL was top of tree for Mk1 Astra. No trace of any GLS - Mk2 introduced CDi level.

The same alloy wheels found on the Opel Kadett D so possibly an option therefore on Astra MkI.

I was working in Germany at the time and had the chance to order a private import Kadett rather than buying in the UK, and the options were far more numerous, but the base L and GL cars were also less well specified.

Vauxhall Astra with "Optional Sports Alloy Road Wheels - GL only" from the brochure.
