![]() I think this is 1930 BRDC 500 Miles at Brooklands - which would make 30 a Talbot SS according to http://www.racingsportscars.com/entry/Brooklands-1930-10-04-9523.html which is the only list I've found. Some online pictures eg Link to "www.gettyimages.co.uk" , https://www.pinterest.com/pin/503418064570905162/ , http://austinharris.co.uk/photo/talbot-90-500-mile-single-seater/677 "The Talbot 90 single seater built for the 1930 BRDC 500-mile race, presumably at the Darracq Coachworks prior to delivery to Fox & Nichols, who ran the Works entries", but not sure which car these are. Link to "www.classic-auctions.com" has a huge account of these 1930 works team cars - registered PL2 (chassis 29901), PL3 (chassis 29902) and PL4 (chassis 29903) - in its description of PL4 for sale in 2009. Says "For their last major Works outing, the Fox & Nicholl cars participated in the Brooklands 500-Miles race on October 4th. Treated by many as an end of season finale prior to the inevitable winter overhaul/rebuild the 500-Miles was a notorious car breaker. PL 2 (Johnny Hindmarsh/Howard Wolfe) and PL 3 (Tim Rose-Richards/Owen Saunders Davies) took 6th and 7th places overall, a hurriedly prepared PL 4 (Hugh Eaton/Bill Craig) retired". #30 may be PL 2 (Hindmarsh / Wolfe), as #32 (Rose-Richards/Saunders Davies) was the 7th place finisher - http://www.racingsportscars.com/results/Brooklands-1930-10-04-9523.html |
