Humber Think they were called 4x4 FWD PU Utility -- Last edit: 2015-07-06 09:46:16 |

I think not PU as from what I could find that used the chassis and front panels of the Snipe. I think your term FWD might be nearer although I am not 100% certain. The towing vehicle on this page looks the same - Link to "hmvf.co.uk" -- Last edit: 2015-07-11 22:58:37 |

Same rear body as Snipe so believe it is PU , may stand for pick up ? -- Last edit: 2015-07-06 10:30:33 |

Humber produced two versions of the PU, a PU 4x4 (FWD) and 'Snipe' PU 4x2 https://www.o5m6.de/western/LightTrucks_8-cwt.php#humberfwd https://www.o5m6.de/western/LightTrucks_8-cwt.php#humbersnipe This is a FWD PU which had a common chassis with the 'Heavy Utility'. The only single (so unconfirmed) reference I can find for the PU army abbreviation is Patrol Unit. |
