Follows the Herald then passes as it turns FXV 99 originally issued June 39. Has optional protective strips on boot lid for luggage into opening rear window - rarely seen on Imps but was standard on early Chamois. Another at 13-55 PPH 455E = 1967 |

Super Imp, dsl, judging by the first thumb. I mean the blue one as the red one is a '67 de Luxe in Signal red. The Super looks to me in Loch Blue but I suspected this colour had gone at the launch of the super in the autumn of 1965... -- Last edit: 2015-07-11 12:43:48 |

I was wrong. Not a Super Imp as it lacks the specific side trim. So a De Luxe with a later fake grille. |

@e225 - there was an early craze for fitting aftermarket accessory dummy grilles to ordinary Imps. These were not Rootes pattern items, and came in different sizes - all were rectangular - from medium to large. This one by Cosmic is a big one and we have one here - /vehicle_309940-Hillman-Imp-1963.html |

The only accessory they really needed was a couple of 2 foot by 2 foot concrete slabs in the boot to keep the front end down. |

...Interesting! The same happened here for rear engined Fiats, mostly 600s and 850s. -- Last edit: 2015-07-11 18:04:31 |
