This was filmed in Slovenia and Croatia, so it's probably an old Yugoslav army truck. http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0106689/locations -- Last edit: 2007-01-27 17:39:58 |

Not looks like a Fiat, but at OM(was a'60s "Zoo range"cab, modified);in Italy that model was known as Fiat-OM(then Iveco)40/35 NC and was launched in 1973;the same model made under license in Yugoslavia(1978 until 1991)was the Zastava Z 35(in fact those sold in Italy after ceased production with Fiat-OM Brands in 1978 were all Zastava rebadged--made by ZPV=Zastava Privredna Vozila,--then Zastava Kamioni--a truck division that was set up in 1969 and without ties with Zavodi Crvena Zastava, later ZYA=Zastava Yugo Automobili, that build only cars) www.zastava-kamioni.co.yu/istorija/istorija_e.htm (1978 Zastava Z 35) Link to "forum-macchine.it" (Eighties'Zastava Z 35.8 N Crew-cab) PS In add, some CKD kits of that truck were shipped in Nigeria near the NTM(National Trucks Manufacturing)plant opened in 1981 in Kano locality(sold as Iveco-Fiat,'cause the Zastava Brand was almost unknown down there) Link to "forum-macchine.it" -- Last edit: 2007-02-11 00:51:43 |

It was just to be sure that it was not a different name. But I should have seen that you used a "s" in your previous message... |

No, in the story this scene takes place in Italy. The hijacked train starts in Germany and goes through Austria (presumably), Italy and Slovenia before being stopped in Serbia. In this scene the Italians lift a stretch of rail in the tunnel, but the terrorists lay replacement rail they've brought with them. Then they kill all the Italian soldiers. |

The explosion shot appears as stock footage in Naqoyqatsi (2002): /vehicle.php?id=180550 -- Last edit: 2008-06-20 18:58:36 |

As much as I could see on the streets back here, this truck is marked as Zastava 50 8A |

This range (with this cab) was made by Zastava since 1978 - 1st there had to be 2 models - Zastava 35 and 40, then during the 1980s models with this ".8" at the end have been added (30.8, 35.8 etc.). Model 50.8 (A) is not mentioned here: http://www.zastava-kamioni.co.rs/istorija/istorija.htm but indeed existed - this truck is described this way: Link to "www.mojauto.rs" PS. Worth to notice that in 1st link they name this range as "S". -- Last edit: 2017-03-23 22:51:54 |
