So did I. But like the Land Rover Grotesque, it's a hugely over-rated concept. Car introduced Sept 90, but got red inserts to bumpers and side mouldings in Jan 91 so this is one of the first. Essex plates ....

I watched an anniversary special episode on Youtube where the presenters look back on the show and Clarkson said this was one of the cars he was completely "wrong" about ie. it sold very well.

I think the early-90s Escort had some issues and was redesigned several times.
