If you look closely, you can see some cars escaping from that explosion in the background. |

Screen plate front and back is XCH 969/989 or similar - http://www.scoopnest.com/user/007/686956124160028673 - from a series issued in Derbyshire in 1961. XCH 989 is listed as a Land-Rover, 969 is blank. But an identical looking PRA 275 was presented at the London premiere - Link to "www.dedicatedtodaniel.com" - date of first registration listed as 01 February 1951. Bond says it's a 1948 in the clip, but it's probably too far away at that point for even him to read the plate. |

Registration appears to be XCM 988 (from publicity shot elsewhere), but it isn't currently showing on DVLA database.![]() |

CM was a Birkenhead series, but seems it never reached XCM in period. So unless DVLA have resurrected XCM for retro reissues, it's a fake. But it could be PRA 275 as above, if the same car as used in later publicity. |

The car appears to be a very late design 7055 HJ Mulliner DeVille with just a panel above the front seat that opens. The owner may have decided to fit a late design wheel and hub cap combination giving the impression of 50-51 car. XCM 988 does not show up in Silver Wraith index number listings. -- Last edit: 2019-09-22 18:28:57 |
