Austin Loadstar would have the wing-form running through the door also.

Everything seen suggests it to be a Bedford A-type.

That is if its definitely British rather than another European make...

Could be Chevrolet 5100?

solid objection, as the most distintive difference to Opel Blitz headlight position/grille rods is hidden by bushes here.

Bedford or Opel then...

The windscreen looks more like the Opel for the rubber windscreen surround and the slimmer central division without body painted area seen.

In my opinion the proportions seem off for an Opel Blitz...

...more opinions and a vote required therefore, to decide Bedford or Opel.

Like lightninboy, I first thought about a COE truck from the 1947-53 Chevrolet Advanced-Design / GMC New Design truck lines (Chevrolet 5x00 were COE models). But the footboard under the cab would then be different, this first idea is only due to the non-visible hood.

Personally, I would see the windshield of a Bedford with its V-shape on both the roof level and at its base, in the main picture:

(Bedford vs. Opel)

But I'm aware that some Opel trucks with special bodies had also such separated windshield windows, see here and here. The movie was apparently shot in the Netherlands: were Bedford trucks sold in this country?

Edit: the answer to my question can be found here:
DynaMike wrote Bedford was quite popular in Holland, back then.

The depth and the shape of the front wings rear edge says its the Bedford I believe...

Just saying, the Bedford A Type, the Chevrolet Advance Design, the GMC New Design, and the Opel Blitz are mostly the same truck, they are made by General Motors, they are just produced for different markets. Mechanically, they are the same truck. [Image: trucks.jpg]
