Mercedes-Benz E-Klasse, 6-door conversion, specially used for funerals (blue license-plate indicates it's a taxi or a car for rent with chauffeur). -- Last edit: 2007-02-21 22:50:44 |

This would be a goof. It's on a funeral indeed. But they never use taxi's with blue plates on a funeral. It's a W124. -- Last edit: 2007-02-21 22:52:25 |

"stretched limousine" then? |

I think the name "Lang" was used officially by Mercedes-Benz for their LWB-versions, but probably this 6-door sedan is a dutch conversion. (And btw. of course it's not a taxi; it's a "car for rent with chauffeur" - taxis have got similar blue plates and a taxi-shield on their roof.) |

Only available as 260 E or 280 E. This one is listed as a 1990 so it would therefor be a 260 E. |

Even if it's listed as 1990, it means it can also be a later vehicle. In this case, these specs were available from 1990 until July 1993. The 280 E was available from November 1992, nevertheless there was also a 250 D. |

Yes I know, but maybe the license plate (perhaps visible in the series) indicated 1990. It could be a 260 E, 280 E or 250 D then. |

I second DynaMike, believing this one is rather a stretched limousine than a "Lang". The roofline looks pretty high and I think I can spot a vinyl roof, too. I assume we see a funeral limousine by Boonacker of Haarlem/ NL. -- Last edit: 2008-05-09 15:28:51 |
